Journeyman Plumber

We are looking for a committed and personable journeyman plumber to complete our team.

You should have a working knowledge of local plumbing codes, have the knowledge and ability to pull permits, perform inspections and conduct assessments and perform all of the associated work in regard to installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing, gas, heating and cooling systems for our new construction, renovation and service work. 

Journeyman Plumber Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes
  • Install and test mini split and heat pump systems
  • Install new boiler services
  • At times, direct and/or manage laborers ensuring all project tasks are completed on schedule and within budget including documenting hours worked and job progress.
  • Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders
  • Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures
  • Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, toilets, water heaters, water softeners, etc.; install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment.
  • Understand blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing and gas piping systems, water/gas supply networks and waste and drainage systems.
  • Plan, install and service plumbing and gas piping systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls; test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks and potential breakage
  • Repair dishwashers and kitchen equipment that incorporate gas or water consumption
  • Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates
  • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean
  • Work with building principals and supervisors to complete projects
  • Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures
  • Work productively with foremen, project managers, co-workers, and other trades in a construction environment

Journeyman Plumber Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Formal plumbing training with thorough understanding of plumbing tools and techniques
  • Ability to interpret blueprints
  • Must be punctual, reliable and possess a strong work ethic with excellent customer service skills
  • Must pass a CORi background check
